Tip: If
you can’t absorb what is on a visual in 3 to 8 seconds,
and understand it, you have too much information on that visual.
Tip: Stand
back from your laptop, about 8ft. and read your visuals. If you
can’t see it clearly then the back row of the audience can’t
see it either.
- Keep it simple, don’t cram too much information on each
slide.
- Use contrasting colors, they are easier on the eyes and don’t
get looking blurry to an audience over a long series of presentations.
- Don’t use a white background, for presentation graphics
that are being projected to an audience.
- White is great for print, but with today's more powerful projectors,
it will fatigue the eyes of the audience after only a few minutes.
In addition, a white background will make dark text appear blurry.
